Mission

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit with a mission to help people in disenfranchised communities to have homes that are not just affordable and located near local amenities yet built from a sustainable material that further enriches their environment. Our goal is to ensure that living affordably is equitable to having a sustainable design home that is close to everyday conveniences that contribute to and enhance a prosperous quality of life.

Anecdote

It is in Tanzania, Africa where my passion for helping people grew exponentially. On my travels I ate of the sweetest sugar cane, I hiked the Kimani waterfalls and I met some of the most humble and gracious people. As I traveled to the destination of Chimala, Tanzania; I assisted mostly in the hospital. By working alongside the nurses and walking with the doctors on the patient rounds. In the evening I would play a game of football with the children from the nearby villages.

As I did these things, I noticed that the buildings were not structurally sound as the housing that I stayed nor were they safe enough to withstand the elements. I noticed that there was a high number of children that were being brought into the hospital for severe burns because they had innocently fallen into a fire while their mothers were busy prepping dinner for their families.

Even though I noticed all these disparities during my short time spent there I was fortunate to see the construction of an auditorium being built. This building was to be used as a pilar for the people who lived in the nearby villages would have a place to host community events. I was so marveled by each beam that held the structure into place and thought it would bring the neighboring communities even closer together. Upon my departure to the United States, I made the decision to pursue a career in architecture so that I could be of service to my neighboring underserved communities. Building a sustainable and well-constructed home gives people security, and building a safe place made from sustainable materials gives them hope. By designing an interior that reflects who they are, it gives them dignity. 

In our efforts to ensure that families are living in healthy and sustainable homes Mabrilium Build Green Foundation will be working with architects, designers, construction, engineers, and real estate developers to design and build sustainable multifamily homes in underserved areas in the Tarrant County area.
